Go don't Stop!

Mat McHugh is a sweet sweet guy, love him! Mat was a lead singer of the band The Beautiful Girls and he's extremely talented, his songs are just good vibes.

Use what you got and get what you want!

My iPod is always surprising me, today it brought me this awesome song that says:  if you plant rice you harvest rice, you plant potato and you harvest potato - so this is my advice today! Enjoy

I'm alive!

This is the new Michael Franti's single. Lovely!

"How could every day something jumps in the way Gets complicated, I feel devastated But when I’m feeling down, I only wanna be with you I can’t afford the rent or remember checks I sent To pay off all my taxes and feed the president But there’s one thing I remember, I only wanna be with you!"

Quero inventar um você para mim!

I had a super busy day, but it's never late for some music! This a Tulipa Ruiz's song and quero inventar um você para mim - is part of the lyrics - and means I want to invent a new you for me, something like that. It would be good if we could create the perfect person huh?

Love is a shelter!

This song is dedicated to my best friends forever: Kerlly Rovai and my lovely son Vini!
We'll  be friends forever, darlings, that's what's up, no matter what!

I see better, better days!

Yes, It's Edward Sharpe one more time! But what can I do, I'm in love with Alexander Ebert! Pure love!
This is a new song, the album is coming soon, I can't wait! Pre-order here.

A little bit of Brazilian Music - Viajart!

I just got to know this band though a friend of mine Marcio Gueler. It's a mix of roots, reggae, street art, really theatrical! Enjoy!

Look around!

This song is dedicated to people who never look around, that think that the time passes just to the others!
We all get old and kids are fun! Lots of love to Antony Kiedis and Flea!

Music Monday!

I never mention here but I'm a huge Smiths's fan, I've been listening to them since I was 14. I adore Morrissey and Johnny Marr is one of the best guitarists I know.
This is a full concert from 1984! Enjoy!

Life is Hard!

I just found this video and it's magical, beautiful and deep. One more time Edward Sharpe and Alex Ebert surprise me with their killing songs, just amazing!

I've been listening to Múm since forever. It calms me down and I play it before I go sleep. If you don't know them, Múm is a band from Iceland and they are awesome, amazing and make me go wow!

We could pretend it all the time...

Sunday you suppose to chill,so if the the telephone is singing, ringing, it's too early don't pick it up! We don't need to, we got everything we need right here and everything we need is enough! Great Jack Johnson! :)

Speed Dial 2

Good Morning! It's a sunny but cold day in São Paulo and today I got inspired by Zero 7.
Have a good Sunday folks!

Beach House!

What can I say about Beach House? They are awesome and I feel extremely relaxed when I listen to any of their songs.
This song is called The Hours and I'm re-posting this from my beloved friend Benjamin Karam.

Hurt so good!

Magic Numbers - another band I love - I just found this video and I know it seems I'm posting only broken heart songs, but this one is just so beautiful, specially because is a live version.
Love this part of the lyrics:

"You better stop
What if you are just a memory of this heart of mine.
 Just take a look inside

there is nothing left to give unless it's all worth while
Have you erased the files

I can't afford to keep on running, running...
For you"

This a Tulipa Ruiz's song, a singer and songwriter based in São Paulo that I admire so much, not only for her voice and amazing presence on the stage, but I admire her as a woman, she's strong I once met her in person and it was a magical moment.

Víbora is a kind of snake and this song talks about fake people, people who does not have opinion, people who drag us down.

Last yer I saw her live singing this song with the great rapper Criolo, but I did not know at the time I had a vibora beside me!

This video is touching, be prepared! Enjoy!

These Days!

This is fromThe Royal Tenenbaums's soundtrack and I simply adore everything about Wes Anderson.

All People!

Michael Franti is another musician I'm in love with. He is so positive about everything, but it's not only that, his lyrics talk about corruption and politicians and how wrong things are now days.
He has a new album called All People and the video bellow explains better how the album was made and from where he gets his inspiration. Enjoy!

My beach - Go Home!

Just found this video through Cotton Project facebook page and it made me laugh out loud!
This one is dedicated to people who don't belong here in this planet! :p

We come back to heal ya!

Another cold day in São Paulo and again I'm in the mood for some Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros
This song is called Janglin and this live version makes me smile!

Somethings never change...

This song is dedicated to an old friend that I had the opportunity to meet again today!

Somethings never change; Somethings never stay the same
But your so innocent, I'll take all the blame
How I hate to remember for that means the day is past
Sometimes I wonder if I know her or if I really need to ask

Ps. this live version is simply amazing!

All I need!

I love the band Air and I get to know them through the TV show Felicity (cal me tacky and teenager, but this was a JJ Abram's TV show and I love everything he does, writes or produces). Anyways I hit my iPod today Air came along to wake me up!
I have to say here that this video made me smile, it's a stop motion video and I do LOVE stop motion's videos in general.

Cigarette Eyes!

This is my favorite Matt Costa's song ever, and I just found this live version that I simply adore. Matt is one of the artists that I admire most, if you still don't know him, please check it out, he has a new album and you can get it here

Edit: I had to post the photo I have with him because meeting him in person was magical!

Blao Bijou+Design+Style

If you are in town, you need to check this place out, they have two addresses one in Vila Madalena (really cool hood here in SP, full of young and happy people) and one in Moema (cool hood too but more in a fancy way).
They have crochet necklaces and earrings that made me go wow!

Always Alright

I was looking for a video to post, I hit YouTube and this is the first one on the list, (even though I was looking for Jack Johnson - Losing keys). So this is it my dear friends Alabama Shakes, keeping always alright! :)

Edit: I wish I could play guitar like her!

Be awesome!

When I grow up I wanna be like Bjork! This song is called One Day and this video is full of good vibes!

The Decemberists

So, here I was ordering my Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros's cd, at one my favorite book/cds stores - (Livraria da Vila, if you are in town)- and this super friendly salesperson called Juan introduced me to this awesome band. Yes, folk is my thing! Thanks a lot Ruan, lots of love!

Say you're my homie!

This song is so beautiful that I need to post the lyrics, Alexander you are a real poet!

The truth is that I never shook my shadow
Every day it's trying to trick me into doing battle
Calling out 'faker' only get me rattled
Wanna pull me back behind the fence with the cattle
Building your lenses Digging your trenches
Put me on the front line Leave me with a dumb mind
With no defenses But your defense is
If you can't stand to feel the pain then you are senseless
Since this, I've grown up some different kinda fighter
And when the darkness come, let it inside you
Your darkness is shining, my darkness is shining
Have faith in myself

I've seen a million numbered doors on the horizon
Now which is the future you choosen before you gone dying
I'll tell you about a secret I've been undermining, every little lie in this world comes from dividing
Say you're my lover
Say you're my homie
Tilt my chin back, slit my throat take a bath in my blood, get to know me
All out of my secrets all my enemies are turning into my teachers
Because light's blinding, no way dividing what's yours or mine when everything's shining
Your darkness is shining
My darkness is shining
Have faith in ourselves

Yes I'm only loving, only trying to only love
And yes, that's what I'm trying to is only loving
Yes I'm only loving, trying to only love I swear to God I'm only trying to be loving
Yes I'm only lonely loving and yes I'm only feeling only loving, only loving
Ya say it ain't loving, loving but my loving I wanna only love til I'm only loving I swear to God I'm only loving. Trying to be loving, loving, loving, loving, loving, loving

 The Truth!

Peace, Love and Happiness!

It's been a long time that I don't talk about this cute person Garrett! If you like harmonica, this is the guy!
Happy sunday! :)

Fantastic Alexander Ebert!

No need to say anything, just that I'm truly in love with this video and Alexander's amazing album.

She's Manhattan!

This post is dedicated to all those people who try hard to be what they are not. This is my favourite song of her last album and this video simply rocks!

Music is my Sanctuary!

This song is perfect for a Saturday night, to dance, to be happy and it says exactly what I think about music, it speaks to all, makes us think, it makes you smile, it's so lyrical and keep you in a trance! ;)
 Happy Saturday night folks!

This life!

This is a Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros's new song and I can not really describe in words how much I love it! Alexander Ebert's voice is so beautiful and strong at the same time!

Just a normal day in Sao Paulo city!

It's Friday - yes - and I'm listening to Anais Mitchell! Feeling happy!
Thanks for the tip Luke, you rock!

Today my post is dedicated to real friends, those that you can count on when you're down, those that are always there for you.
I feel so blessed to have few people like this in my life. This song is called Constellations and is dedicated to my dear and awesome friend Kerlly , to my sweet sweet friend Luke and to my darling and old friend Benjamim.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros is another band that I'm totally in love with. They have a new album coming soon and I just can not wait to have it. You can already pre-order it on Itunes.
The band is just amazing and I just came across this video where Jade Castrinos rocks our socks with her awesome voice.

O Rappa

O Rappa is a Brazlian band from Rio de Janeiro. They have a mix of hip-hop and reggae that I simply adore.
Rappa follows my life since 1996 and what catches my attention every time are the lyrics, always talking about faith, family, friendship, the beach, the ocean and how is good to be a hard worker. They inspire me, day by day.
The song I have chosen to post here is called Mar de Gente, that in a literal translation means sea of people.

Music Thursday!

This is my dear and awesome friend Matt Gilliotti covering Foster The People! He sent me this video some hours ago and it just made my day!

It's my party and I cry If I want to!

No, it's not my birthday - I'm from June 1st - but today I'm celebrating the end of an era and the beginning of a new life.
Since it's a celebration I have to celebrate with these two guys who make my life so much happier and lighter!

This is part of La Blogotheque and it's just awesome, I pretty much watch all of them, if you never heard of, you should really check it out.

So one more time Kings of Convenience. Enjoy!

Ok I get it!

Good Morning folks! I just found this video, the audio is not great but it made me smile!
Kings of Convenience in Puglia. from ninnilaterza on Vimeo.

Rareform interview with Marc Beauregard!

If you read this blog you know that I simply love folk and surf music in general and I grew up going to the beach, so I'm used to swim and dive but I never felt like surfing, I guess I'm too afraid, I don't know, so the last seven years I've been following this singer, songwriter and surfer I love and I just posted about him, that is Jack Johnson, what happens is that in 2009 another singer, songwriter and surfer caught my attention: Marc Beauregard, so I became a huge fan, I love his energy, his lyrics and he's always so positive, his songs just put a smile in my face, no matter what kind of problem I have, I count on Marc's songs to feel better.
Since I just came back from the beach and I have all these feelings here alive I decided to post this interview, which is awesome because he mentions my name, as a person he would like to meet, what an honor huh?
Along with the interview I will post this video from Rareform too, that is really well done.
If you don't know Marc, please check for his new single called Forgiven, you can download it from Itunes.

I got you!

This Monday is full of new good songs and this one is quite special for me, it's delicate, beautiful and it's from Jack Johnson!
In this video we can see how awesome and humble Jack can be, damn I love him! (as a fan Kim - no panic here :p)

Jack has a new album coming soon and he's on tour, if you like or love him like I do, take a look at his website.

I grew up going to the beach but some how I turned into a really city girl (woman I must say now that I'm 39)!
Besides I'm the whitest girl alive, I never can get really tanned, I'm just too white. But let's stop talking about me here. I finally went back to the beach - my last time was new years - and I took some really good photos and I would love to share here.
I would like to add that it's winter here in Brazil, the weather is great to be honest around 24 C, but the beach was really empty, but I really loved to have the sea just for me!

Edit: - If you would like to see more pictures of the Brazilian beach, please follow me on instagram: vivipastore!

Music Monday!

Here I was in the car - coming back from the beach - I'm kind of bored because I'm not driving and I love to drive. I hit my vimeo and look what I found! My favourite artist ever in my favourite city ever! Erlend Øye, playing acoustic inside a tram in Amsterdam! It made my day. Enjoy!

Edit: -The owner of this video does not allow us to embed the video, damn guy!

Here it goes the link, then: http://vimeo.com/7229130.

Happy Monday folks! :)

I'm into a Travi's phase now, yes - let's give a Nordic break here - so I've been listening to Travis since forever, to be honest I don't remember when I got to know them.
Today I just needed to get closer!
This video is awesome and every time I watch it, I have a smile in my face. :)

Rollercoaster Ride

It's been a while since my last post, I've been cleaning and renewing my bedroom and yesterday was the CDs part, the usual what stays, what goes to the bin, well, besides a Mel C's cd (yes total shame I know) I found - I also found my Whitest Boy Alive's cd and if you read this blog you must know how I love or should I say adore Kings of Convenience and Erlend Øye!
I was in the car today listening to this album and this beautiful song caught my attention. Enjoy!
